Welcome to ICHEP 2026

It is a great honour to announce that the 43rd International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP 2026) will take place in Natal, Brazil, from July 30th to August 5, 2026.

ICHEP is the premier conference in High Energy Physics with a tradition that started with the Rochester Conferences in the 1950s. ICHEP is promoted by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and organized every two years. It gathers physicists from all over the world to share the most recet advances in Particle Physics, Accelerator Physics, Detectors, Computing, Analyses Tools, Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology and to consider issues in Outreach, Diversity and Sustainability in these fields. It is also an opportunity to showcase the important interactions with Industry and with Society at large. ICHEP is also the natural forum to discuss the future of the field and plans for new instruments.

This is the very first time that ICHEP will take place in Latin America. Latin America hosts a thriving HEP community, as evidenced by the mapping conducted by the Latin American Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructure (LASF4RI) in High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics (HECAP). This community has recently established the Latin American Association for HECAP (LAA-HECAP) and an update of a bottom-up Strategy Plan is being finalized. The impact of this community has experienced a rapid growth, as exemplified by the recent entrance of Brazil and Chile as Associate Members of CERN and the large participation in the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE).

The Brazilian Physical Society, the largest in Latin America, is helping in the organization of ICHEP. Brazil also hosts international physics institutes which are supporting ICHEP, such as the Latin American Center for Physics (CLAF), the ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR) and the International Institute of Physics (IIP), the latter located in Natal. The Brazilian HEP cpmmunity is organized in the National Network for High Energy Physics (RENAFAE).

ICHEP will be held in Natal, a scenic coastal city in the Northeast of Brazil known for its robust tourism infrastructure, culture, gastronomy and accessibility. ICHEP 2026 will be an in-person only conference.
